Slipstream is a science-fiction movie set in the near future. Vaguely referred to natural disasters have radically changed how people live. A powerful wind, called the Slipstream, has been created by the changes, and riding the slipstream in balloons and airplanes is now the only form of transportation. The film follows Byron (Bob Peck), a fugitive wanted for murder by a corrupt police agency/bounty hunter organization. He is captured by two hunters, Tasker (Mark Hamill) and Belitski (Kitty Aldridge), but helped to escape by Matt Owens (Bill Paxton), who wants to turn him in for the reward himself. When Byron makes a run for it, the three others give chase. As events unfold, the four make alliances to survive, while trying to find some semblance of a happy life on this post-apocalyptic Earth.
