Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a determined young race car driver, whose natural ability is greater than most drivers on the planet. Ever since his brother’s tragic death, Speed has set his sights on a brutal endurance race across the country which carries untold fame and fortune for its champion. As his family’s business is struggling a win can greatly help them out. A corporate raider has also offered to sponsor Speed in the race, but as Speed suspects that the man fixes races, he declines. This greatly angers the man, and he recruits a band of outlaw drivers to prevent speed from winning the race. Speed, now with the emotional support of his girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci) and the partnership with one time archrival Racer X (Matthew Fox) on the track, is primed for victory. |
