General Thayer (Tom Powers) commands a government project design of a rocket with nuclear propulsion that will go to the moon. Private investment is needed, so Thayer asks Jim Barnes (John Archer), who owns airplanes, to get some other businessmen to participate financially. Dr. Charles Cargraves (Warner Anderson) knows that test rockets have already crashed, so he must make one that actually works. The U. S. wants to be the first to get people to the moon, as other nations are also competing. It is believed that the first ones to get to that destination will also be the ones in control of the Earth. |
