Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) is a young Viking boy whose father Stoick (Gerard Butler) is the Viking Chief and a legendary dragon slayer. Unlike the other Vikings, Hiccup is smart but not physically strong. To gain his father’s respect and affection, he decides to train as a warrior along with other young boys. His father is reluctant but permits him to do so. He starts training under dragon slayer instructor Gobber (Craig Ferguson). However, instead of learning to kill dragons, Hiccup befriends a dragon named Toothless and seeks to understand the most feared breed of dragons. He also wants his people to understand that the dragons are not dangerous and that there is no need to kill them. |
